Melamine foam features a three-dimensional reticulated structure with an open-cell ratio as high as 99.9%. Its extremely low thermal conductivity makes it an outstanding thermal insulation material. When exposed to fire, it forms a dense carbonized layer, self-extinguishes upon removal from flame, produces no molten drips, low smoke and non-toxic fumes.
